Online workshop on the engagement of multilingual families
January 28, 2022
Host: Prof. Maria Coady
Translation: Dr. Anna Basińska (Bilingualism Matters @Poznan)

The meeting concerns cooperation between the school and the families of students with migration experience. We, teachers and teachers, have great power in good, supportive and effective cooperation with the families of our students. In the situation of cooperation with the families of students with migration experience, additional challenges may arise, such as the language barrier, other social and cultural patterns, etc. Therefore, we are glad that prof. Coady shared how teachers in US schools encourage families of students with migration experience to cooperate.

Supplementary material for the lecture:
The film "Small Town-Big Dreams" https://youtu.be/fiCIN5D36eQ about the ideas of a rural Florida school in the USA for cooperation with families with migration experience.
